I am not, what one might call, a Sports Fan. I probably couldn't name two quarterbacks in the history of football or a single basketball player right now (well, not RIGHT now because, you know). But I cannot get enough of Jelle's Marble Runs since John Oliver mentioned it a couple weeks ago. It's exactly what it sounds like--marble racing--but it's also so much more. Exciting, suspenseful, funny and well-produced, Jelle's Marble Runs will have you on the edge of your seat, cheering on your favorite colored orb, yelling at the referees (yes, there are referees!), and laughing at the commentary (and yes, there is commentary, and it's gold!).
Spaghetti, rotini, penne, fettuccine, linguini. I am revisiting favorite pasta recipes, making new ones up on the fly, and now I just keep my strainer in the sink because it's become a daily-use item. While it kind of feels like a great excuse to fulfill all of my carb fantasies, it's also super practical, endlessly versatile, and provides that home cooked meal feeling even when you're eating out of boxes, jars, and cans. Pro Tip: ditch the canned tomatoes and add some tomato paste to sautéed oil, garlic, and red pepper flake for a stupid easy, go-with-everything sauce.
I am currently spacing out to Top Chef on Bravo. It's inspiring me in the kitchen during quarantine!
