Summer is finally here and although it may not be the one we were anticipating, the Interstellar crew is still finding ways to have fun in the sun. Check out these top picks from our staff in the June 2020 edition of “What We’re Spacing Out to.”
I'm getting ready for a long motorcycle adventure from Denver to Zion National Park. To remain connected and productive during the trip, I'll be taking my laptop. But a bare laptop on motorcycle is a scary thing! So I purchased a Velomacchi laptop sleeve that protects against high speed slides and displaces crash impact. Even if you don't ride a moto but are hard on your laptop or super clumsy (also me!), it's a great investment to protect your gear.
Mellow cooking (and eating) shows. Sometimes with a little goofy thrown in. My favorites are Ugly Delicious, The Chef Show, Great British Baking Show, and the absolute weirdest of them all — Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition. The latter is a delightful romp through the Reality TV desperation of your favorite C-List celebs like Dave Coulier (27 times is how many he said "Cut it Out" in his stint), Bronson Pinchot, Maria Bamford, Ian Ziering, Brian Posehn, and even LaToya Jackson singing "Julienne" (the knife cut) over and over and over. A true foodie fever dream if ever there was one.
Brene Brown's podcast Unlocking Us recently interviewed BLM activist and bestselling author, Ibram X. Kendi, for a really moving episode detailing the current events and how to be Anti-Racist. Highly recommend delving into this episode for some perspective.
With the summer here and being home more than ever, I’ve been firing up the smoker a lot lately! I’ve always been more of a steak on the grill kinda guy, but I was recently gifted a Traeger smoker and I’ve been geeking out, trying to learn all the different types of ways to smoke all sorts of delish foods. 🙂 Throw a beer back and turn on the Traeger!
