Summers in Colorado are incredible. They’re also incredibly hot. So, the Interstellar crew has found ways to beat the heat with relaxing indoor activities. Check out these top picks from our staff in the July 2020 edition of “What We’re Spacing Out to.”
I recently finished Lori Gottlieb's Maybe You Should Talk to Someone: A Therapist, Her Therapist, and Our Lives Revealed, an equal parts humorous and moving book that weaves together stories from the author and her patients, revealing the struggles we all face to deal with our emotions, accept our failures, and recognize the true sources guiding our behaviors. We should maybe all talk to someone. Especially with the current state of the world.
Sometimes you just need to baseball-bat a guy to the face, get a warm octopus takoyaki, and play a round of darts/pool/bowling/karaoke/mahjong. If this relates to you in any way, YAKUZA 0 is the game for you. It came out five years ago and I just started playing it this year and HOLY. MOLEY. I have never cried laughing, cried crying, and straight up just cried (from the sheer difficulty) in any other game. If you're into any sort of gaming (literally — any), then this is the game for you. It's perfect, it's beautiful, it's Linda Evangelista. And in these 'trying times', it's the game we all need. You Yakuza? Cause I am. See you next week, with my full-back, koi fish tattoos.
I'm spacing out to So You Want to Talk About Race by Ijeoma Oluo. It's a very accessible read, extremely eye-opening and acts as a meaningful guide to unlearn systemic issues.
