Sleep apnea is a big deal, treating it shouldn’t be.
We’re very excited to announce the partnership between cpapRX and Interstellar.
Getting a good night’s sleep has always been a critical part of physical and mental health. If you’ve ever had a crappy night’s sleep {and let’s face, you have}, then you know exactly what we’re talking about. And it doesn’t just affect you, it affects everyone around you. It can affect relationships with your significant others and kids, as well as your coworkers, and even pets can all be recipients of some misguided frustration brought on by lack of quality rest.
Everyone should be concerned about their sleep health. According to the CDC, adults need 7 or more hours of sleep per night for the best health and well-being, yet over 35% of adults 18 and over are at risk. And a general crankiness is far from the only concern, as poor sleep conditions leads to higher risk of depression, heart disease and cancer. In other words, it’s not a joke. Far from it.
Sleep apnea is one of the top reasons people don’t get enough sleep, or the right kind of sleep. Sleep apnea occurs in about 25% of men and 10% of women, yet it’s estimated that as many as 80% of cases go diagnosed, and thus untreated. (For more great info and stats of sleep, check out Slumber Yard’s article).
Unfortunately, there is such a negative stigma around CPAP, that many at-risk people who need this sort of support simply don’t seek it out. A lack of good education online is a part of it, for example, how expensive is this all going to be? But one of the biggest hindrances is actually a sense of embarrassment. Will the person sleeping next to me wake up and think I’m Darth Vader?
Dr. Danny Yaish and Ryan Lange plan to use the force to tackle these educational needs and emotional concerns head on, as they launch cpapRX online in May. Together with their brand partner, Streamline Jacks, Interstellar is building out their new online CPAP supplies store and planning the launch of digital marketing campaigns across organic, paid and social channels.
At a time such as this, when everyone on the planet is concerned about health and quality of life, we believe this sort of education and message is in critical need. We’ll be sharing more about this great new relationship and the CPAP industry following launch in May, and we are very excited to a part of this endeavor.
